Note: The title of this song word-for-word is “Child Some, Huh?”—the chopped off end of the refrain. Because this makes no sense in English, I made up a new title to go with the English translation, “Give the Kid a Chance,” also from the refrain. In Thai, the pronoun เขา “kow” can mean either “he” or “she”; thus the “he or she” throughout this translation. The notes under this official video translate: “’Luuk Bang Ner’ is a song that conveys to parents to let go and let their children have an opportunity to do whatever for themselves, because when the time comes that the parents are no longer there, the child will be able to depend on him or herself.”
