Note: This song complains that Farang tourists (Westerners) are often attracted to the sleazy side of Thailand (the sex tourism of Patpong and Pattaya), while there are many other amazing attractions for visitors to Thailand. And the song admits there is an ugly side to Thailand, even human trafficking, supporting the sex tourism.

*This is the line that is different from the classic version. In this music video, he says “I hear this and I laugh” rather than “I’ll bet a woman has made Tom lovesick.”
**Songkran is the Thai New Year water splashing festival. During Loy Krathong little decorated boats with candles on them are floated down the river at night.
***My checker thinks “dta la la” and “dta la wa” may be the sounds of people calling out to each other in the market.
****Literally “contrary to the needs or requirements of Thai people”. (So this is about the rules in a broad sense–follow the rules, including the rules of politeness).
