มีคนรักชื่อสุนทรีย์ เพื่อนผู้ซี้นามศิลปะ
I have a loved one named Suntaree [means “aesthetics”).* A poet friend
มโหรีคือศรัทธา รู้ปรัชญาเท่าหางอึ่งกวี
The concert is faith. Knowing philosophy is equal to the poet’s bullfrog tail [is worthless]
ดวงอาทิตย์ส่องเเสงนําทาง ดาวเดือนยังเมตตาราตรี
The sun shines its light leading the way. The moon remains the mercy of the night
คืนมืดมิดเเม้ไร้เเสงสี ยังมีกองไฟก่อใจฝัน
The dark night, even lacking bright light, still has a campfire and so the heart dreams
* ไม่มีกาน้ำสักใบ เเต่คงความหมายมีให้กัน
We don’t even have one kettle. But we still have meaning/significance for each other
เพียงใจรับรู้ในไฟฝัน เยือกเย็นเหน็บหนาวอันตรธาน
[If] only the heart recognizes the fire dream, the freezing cold disappears
เหว่ว้ามานั่งข้างกองไฟ อุ่นกายอุ่นใจกันเเละกัน
If feeling empty, come and sit by the campfire. Warm the body, warm the heart side by side with others
คืนหนาวคืนนี้เพื่อจินตกาล ห่มฝันเเห่งโลกผู้รอนเเรมไกล
This cold night is for imagination [for mind-time]. Wrap in the dream of a world of distant travelers
ใครหลงทางใจเเสวงหา อาคันตุกะเชิญพบความหมาย
Those who get lost searching [are?] visitors welcome to discover meaning
โหมตัวตนบนความเข้าใจ เลอะเทอะเปอะเปื้อนไปตามฝัน
Devote your existence to understanding, follow after your dreams, [though] stained and soiled.
คนเปื้อนฝัน คนเปื้อนฝัน คืนลำนำข้างกองไฟ
The dirt-smugged people dream, the dirt-smugged people dream. Night song beside the fire
ไม่มีกาน้ำสักใบ เเต่มีนิยายเล็กๆ อุ่นไอเล็กๆ
[They] don’t have even one kettle. But [they] have a little fairy tale, a little body warmth
ที่หมายความถึงความสุข… คือเเบ่งปัน
which represents the happiness they share together
*He may be personifying “Aesthetics”
