น้ำท่วมใครว่าดีกว่าฝนแล้ง
nám tûam krai wâa dee gwàa fŏn láeng
Floods, people say, are better than drought
ฉันว่าน้ำแห้งให้ฝนแล้งเสียยังดีกว่า
chăn wâa nám hâeng hâi fŏn láeng sĭa yang dee gwàa
I say [when] the water dries up to the point of ruinous drought it’s still better
น้ำท่วมปีนี้ทุกคนล้วนมีแต่คราบน้ำตา
nám tûam bpee née túk kon lúan mee dtàe krâap nám dtaa
The floods this year [cause] everyone only tears
