A degree [for the] gullible from a stupid university.******

*”หลอก” or “lòk” means to cheat or trick. “Rip-off” is an American slang expression meaning to be cheated when buying something. As in, “That fake diamond ring was a rip-off” [noun] or “Hey, they ripped me off!”
**A metaphor for not having connections to influential people. “sên yài” mâi mee, the big noodles, are the high-ranking people who can get you a good job; “sên lék,” the small noodles are the lower-level people who can get you a lower-level job. The “sên gŭay-jáp,” another kind of noodle, is not usually part of the saying and is added on as a joke to emphasize that the person has no connections at all.
*** There is an expression “ตาสีตาสา” (dtaa si dtaa sa) that refers to ‘rural people’. The author coined the phrase “ยายมียายมา” (yaai mi yaai ma) to mimic “ตาสีตาสา” as “ตา” means maternal grandfather and “ยาย” means maternal grandmother.” มี มา are just a wordplay.
**** It actually says, “Go stick it on a wall, find a good monk” but the implication that the person should stick the diploma on a wall alongside a picture of famous monk, and the luck from the picture of the monk will do as much good as the diploma.
***** They promote the fairy tale that the degree is valuable.
****** Another translator says the insults “งมงาย” and “งมเงา” are chosen for their alliteration, and shouldn’t be taken too seriously, but I think it’s worth knowing that งมงาย means “gulible” and งมเงา neans “to grope in the dark.”
