Note: The word สังกะสี (sang-ga-see) means both “zinc” and “corrugated galvanized steel.” I used “Zinc” for the title as it is more succinct, but in the song the word refers to corrugated galvanized steel and I use the words “metal sheet” because it is shorter. There appear to be some mistakes in the official transcription of the lyrics relative to what I hear.

His/their skin is sun-burnt, dark, and rough. He/they struggles with the work, but can endure it

Fried mackeral, river tamarind. It’s like they’ve been eating this since their previous life [because it’s cheap].
นี่แหละสุขกรรมกร ทุกข์ที่กายใจยังสุข
This is the happiness of the unskilled laborer. Suffering is in the body, the heart is still happy
คือช่างสุข คือชงไม้
[He] is Artisan Suk [Suk means Happy]. He is a carpenter.
อายุขัยคือห้าสิบ
The end of his life is 50 years.
แกสร้างตึกสูงลิบลิ่ว
He builds extravagant high-rise buildings
แต่ตัวเองลูกเมียยังเร่ร่อน
But he himself, his child, and wife, still wander nomadically from place to place

มือที่สากกว่าส้นเท้า คอยโน้มน้าวเหนี่ยวนั่งร้าน
His hands are rougher than his heals, always maneuvering scaffolding
ไต่ความสูงอย่างชำนาญ ด้วยวิญญาณของช่างเก่า
Dexterously climbing heights. He used to work as an expert carpenter and has returned to doing it
เหมือนชะตาฟ้าจะแกล้ง ลมพัดแรงฝนตั้งเค้า
It’s like destiny is teasing. The wind blows strongly, it looks like rain.
สังกะสีอันผุเก่า ปลิวปะทะร่างช่างสุข
An old rusted piece of [corrugated] metal blows away and collides with the body of Carpenter Suk

พสุธาอ้าแขนไว้ ร่างช่างไม้กับสังกะสี
The earth opens its arms to the body of the carpenter and the corrugated metal
ตกกระทบธรณี เลือดสีแดงกระเซ็นซ่าน
[They] fall and hit the ground, red blood splatters and spreads
เสียงหวัดร้องโกลาหล ว่ามีคนหล่นนั่งร้าน
Tumultuous voices cry out, “Someone fell from the scaffolding!”
ปากต่อปากจากคนงาน คือเฒ่าสุขเฒ่าสังกะสี
From the mouth of one worker to the next, “It’s the old man Suk and an old sheet of correlated steel.”
เหลือแต่ร่างให้อาลัย
All that’s left is the body to mourn

Days and months and years go by. The building scrapes the sky

The walls of the building are velvet.

Toilets from Italy, lighting from Austria.
แพงเท่าไหร่แล้วสรรหา เจริญตาประสาเสี่ย
Selected however expensive. They please the eye, in a rich Chinese style
