UPDATE! Sadly, the bones of Pholachi “Billy” Rakchongcharoen have just been found. Looks like he was assassinated for his activism. See the story at Prachatai English.
Note: According to a Reuters report, “Pholachi ‘Billy’ Rakchongcharoen, an ethnic Karen land rights activist, went missing after being detained by Thai national park authorities, on April 17, 2014.” He is one of many Thai victims of “enforced disappearance.” Human rights activists in Thailand are always at risk of being mysteriously dissappeared, sometimes for weeks, sometimes forever. Despite the hopefullness of this song, Polachi or Billy Rakchangcharoen has very likely murdered been by government officials. His family will likely not get justice. Thailand needs to finish passing a promised law against torture and enforced disappearance.
